Definitions

1. this is a network of machines from city to city, connected like telephones are connected. A message can be typed in on one telex and instantly received at a receiving telex. It is much cheaper and easier to administer than telephone. It is faster and more direct than telegram and has less vias. Telex is a very good method of fast communication. One can own a machine and have it hooked in to the international network of telex lines, like a phone. It is like a telephone -typewriter. (FO 2528)
