Definitions
a summary record of the current manpower a business has available to it. This might consist of a single card or trait photograph on each employee giving basic data such as name, address, sex, job, education level, previous experience, performance with the company, etc. This is not the same as the personnel files which often occupy several file cabinets. A manpower inventory is only a summary of the data in each employee's personnel file. It occupies one card per employee and may be briefer yet. Usually there is a summary statement giving the total of employees, how many in each department and any summary figures or breakdowns found expedient to management. Also called staff list or manning table.
