training given to an apprentice by a qualified employer or journeyman. The apprentice assists one already accomplished in the trade and through practical experience and instruction he gradually attains a high level of proficiency. An agreement between the apprentice and employer governs how long the apprentice will work for the employer, at what wages and for how much instruction.
