1. the shield or escutcheon forms the basis for the rest of the coat of arms, and traditionally contains a major part of the symbology in the choice of design and color used in it. It could be divided in several ways. The Sea Org coat of arms is divided in four divisions as symbolic of the fact that we are operating to handle the fourth dynamic engram. Emblems are then placed on the background in relation to each other. These emblems, according to what was used, gave information to those initiates who had been familiarized with the shield.
