there is an old story about the Rough Riders, a regiment in the Spanish-American War. Their most famous exploit was the taking of San Juan Hill (Cuba). The orders of the day were posted and stated explicitly that they were to "jump off' from El Canay at five o'clock the following morning and were to take San Juan Hill. The Rough Riders awoke at 4:30 A.M. to discover that one small thing had been omitted from their plans: they had, as yet, to take El Canay. (Scn Jour 14-G)
