Definitions

1. a budget that takes into consideration variations in production or business activity and makes alternate provisions for these variations. A flexible budget is used when the amount of production, sales or activity is variable and can only be generally predicted or where costs vary to a large degree.

2. a budget which may have to change during the course of operations.
