Definitions
an occupation which normally requires a high degree of technical and/or theoretical training usually involving an internship as in theology, medicine, law, teaching or engineering. Professions have duty or personal conviction as their prime motivation rather than personal gain or money. To this end many professions have an established code of ethics or conduct to guide their practitioners. They are distinguished from businesses.
